Live in this viral, all-black “goth” house for $ 250,000
An all-black house for sale in Illinois is nicknamed the “Gothic House” online.
Located in Lincoln, just north of Springfield, the octagonal-shaped home sits on a half-acre secluded lot and, unusually, has no square rooms.
The ad with address 110 Edgar St. described the property as a “mysterious black octagon” and “Midwestern reef.”
The two-story residence was first marketed on December 17 for $ 250,000.
Composed of two bedrooms and two bathrooms, the main level includes a fireplace, an open concept living / dining room with a corner gas fireplace, French doors and a floating floor. The fully equipped kitchen is made up of granite countertops and there is a full bathroom on each floor.
The second floor features a master loft with a cathedral ceiling, three skylights and a tiled bath with a double vanity and a walk-in shower.

The residence, which spans just over 1,500 square feet, also has three separate decks and a three-car garage with several updates to the exterior siding, roof, landscape, and gutters.
The house first went viral when the âZillowGoneWildâ Instagram account posted the listing.

âDesigned by Voldemort,â commented one user.
âFascinating to see the dichotomy between black walls and live-style laughing panels,â another joked.
Real estate agent Seth Goodman told Fox2Now News he was “still fascinated by the octagon-shaped property.”
He bought the house in August for just $ 75,000, according to property records, with the intention of renovating and reselling it.

Goodman started by installing an all-black shingled roof, then decided to do the entire exterior with black gutters and matching vinyl siding.
He liked the look so much that he decided to paint the interior black as well.
âOkay, but when the summer sun comes, this house will feel like a school playground,â one Twitter user explained.
